Forbes is known for its emphasis on all things business: from entrepreneurship and investment to technology and education. The magazine publishes its top MBA rankings list every other year, most recently in 2011.

Highlights

Forbes polls information directly from alumni and makes available information that isn’t otherwise accessible. For example: If you are considering an MBA, chances are you have financial goals in mind, and Forbes allows you to drill down into salary progression data.

How Do They Rank?

In keeping with its heavy emphasis on investment and finance, Forbes’ list is based on a single factor: return on investment (ROI). Forbes surveys alumni of over 100 MBA programs to determine their salaries before they graduated and their salaries for three of the first five years after graduation. They then compare students’ post-MBA salaries with the opportunity cost of pursuing an MBA.
