For Hispanic and Latino Candidates

Title: General College Scholarship
Affiliated Organization: Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Amount: $500-5,000
Who’s it for?: Hispanic citizens or permanent residents of the United States planning to enroll in a full-time degree program with a GPA of at least 2.5. Must file FAFSA.
Description: This scholarship is designed to aid Latino students in acquiring higher education, and is awarded on a competitive basis.

Title: Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting
Affiliated Organization: ALFPA
Amount: $1,250-10,000
Who’s it for?: Hispanic US citizens or permanent residents studying business, finance, or accounting with
a GPA of 3.00. Must demonstrate financial need
Description: The ALPFA awards $150,000 in scholarships yearly, mostly in the amounts of $1,250-1,500. ALPFA encourages all selected scholarship recipients to attend the ALPFA Annual Convention. Top candidates may also be eligible for scholarships up $10,000.

Title: National Society of Hispanic MBAs
Affiliated Organization: NSHMBA
Amount: $2,500-10,000
Who’s it for?: Hispanic US citizens or permanent residents planning to enroll in an MBA program, with a GPA of 3.00 or two years work experience and a GPA of 2.75. Must have an NSHMBA membership.
Description: The NSHMBA exists, “to foster Hispanic leadership through graduate management education and professional development.” The scholarship includes an additional $250 allowance for travel and lodging expenses to attend NSHMBA’s annual conference.

Title: NBMBAA Graduate Scholarship Program
Affiliated Organization: National Black MBA Assocation, Inc.
Amount: $1,000-10,000
Who’s it for?: Members of NBMBAA enrolled or planning to enroll in full-time MBA programs in the US or Canada with a GPA of 3.0 or above
Description: Scholarship awarded to individuals who excel academically, demonstrate strong communication skills, community involvement, and leadership qualities.

Title: NABA Scholarship
Affiliated Organization: National Association of Black Accountants
Amount: $1,000-5,000
Who’s it for?: Active members of NABA that are African-American or of African descent enrolled in full time business programs who meet a minimum GPA requirement.
Description: NABA awards an average of 50 scholarships annually, that in total exceed $230,000, to deserving minority students studying business.

For Minority Candidates

Title: Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship
Affiliated Organization: Government Finance Officers Association
Amount: $8,000
Who’s it for?: US and Canadian citizens or permanent residents studying public administration, accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration. Available only to African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino students. Must have a recommendation from an academic adviser or dean of a graduate program.
Description: This scholarship recognizes outstanding performance by minority students preparing for careers in government finance. The award is presented at GFOA’s annual conference in Denver, Colorado.

Title: Toigo MBA Fellowship
Affiliated Organization: Robert Toigo Foundation
Amount: $2,500
Who’s it for?:
Ethnic minorities applying to or accepted into an accredited U.S.-based two-year MBA program, JD/MBA, Masters in Real Estate, Masters in Finance. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Description: According to their website, “The Toigo MBA Fellowship provides minority MBA candidates committed to careers in finance with an unmatched network of contacts, a prestigious point of difference in the eyes of employers, one-on-one career guidance, leadership training, a merit award—and more.”

For Women Candidates

Title: Career Development Grant
Affiliated Organization: American Association of University Women
Amount: $2,000-12,000
Who’s it for?: Women with Bachelor’s Degrees looking to advance careers, change careers, or return to the work force through higher education. Preference given to women of color, women pursuing their first advanced degree, and women pursuing work in non-traditional fields.
Description: According to their mission statement, “AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.”

For Green-card Holders and First Generation Americans

Title: The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Affiliated Organization: The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Amount: up to $90,000 over two years
Who’s it for?: Green-card holders and children of naturalized citizens in first or second year of graduate study or preparing to enter graduate school and under 31 years of age. Selection based on creativity, originality, initiative, sustained accomplishment, and commitment to the constitution and bill of rights.
Description: According to their website, “The Program is established in recognition of the contributions New Americans have made to American life and in gratitude for the opportunities the United States has afforded the donors and their family.”

For Candidates of Polish Descent

Title: Kosciuszko Foundation Tuition Scholarships
Affiliated Organization: Kosciuszko Foundation
Amount: $1,000-7,000
Who’s it for?: American graduate students of Polish descent or specializing in Polish studies with a 3.0 GPA. Full-time students only.
Description: Kosciuszko Foundation’s mission statement reads, “The Kosciuszko Foundation is dedicated to promoting educational and cultural exchanges between the United States and Poland and to increasing American understanding of Polish culture and history.”

Title: Point Foundation Scholarship
Affiliated Organization: Point Foundation
Amount: Varies (average $10,000)
Who’s it for?: LGBT students who excel academically, demonstrate leadership qualities, have contributed to the LGBT communities, and have been economically disadvantaged or otherwise marginalized.
Description: Point Foundation provides financial support, mentoring, leadership training and hope to meritorious students who are marginalized due to sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Title: Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship

Title: AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship

Liberal arts and non-business degree holders with AICPA membership who are pursuing both graduate studies in accounting and the CPA licensure.

This award was created to motivate outstanding students with little or no previous accounting education to become CPAs.

Title: AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship
Affiliated Organization: American Institute of CPAs
Amount: $2,500
Who’s it for?: Must have completed some accounting-related undergraduate work, have applied to or enrolled in accounting-related graduate program, plan to pursue CPA licensure, have 3.0 GPA, and hold AICPA membership.
Description: The AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship program provides financial assistance to outstanding accounting students who demonstrate potential to become leaders in the CPA profession.

Title: AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students
Affiliated Organization: American Institute of CPAs
Amount: $1,000-$5,000
Who’s it for?: Minorities under-represented in accounting field. Must have completed some accounting-related undergraduate work, have applied to or enrolled in accounting-related graduate program, plan to pursue CPA licensure, have 3.0 GPA, and hold AICPA membership.
Description: The AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students provides financial awards to outstanding minority students to encourage their pursuit of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession.

Title: Mary Elizabeth Lockwood Beneventi MBA Scholarship
Affiliated Organization: National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution
Amount: $2,000
Who’s it for?: Full-time MBA students with a GPA of 3.25. Awards based on academic merit, commitment to field of study, and financial need.
Description: NSDAR is a non-profit women’s service organization dedicated to patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education.

Title: QS Community Scholarships for MBA and Postgraduate Studies
Affiliated Organization (if applicable): QS: The Leading Site for Masters and PHD Applicants
Amount: $2,000
Who’s it for?: Must have attended a QS World MBA Tour or a QS World Grad School Fair and completed a QS Applicant Survey. Must win admission to a graduate school participating in the tour, and submit an essay on the topic “Where I have given back my time and talent to my community and how it made a difference” (max. 750 words).
Description: Awarded to five charismatic individuals who excel in socially responsible leadership.

Title: QS Scholarships for Academic Excellence – for Masters and PHD Studies
